my mom commissioned this from me.....and I am getting paid. My first paid project! How about that! :) I need to readjust the tie on the bootie - but other than that I am pretty happy with these. The color didn't photograph too well. The green is A LOT greener.

I am back.

Yeah, the last couple months I have been quite absent from the blogging thing. Coping with Brad's death has been pretty consuming and I didn't want to soak my blog with all of that. I have other channels for directing all of that pain. These days I am coping and doing pretty well. I have never known grief as deeply as this one - so, I am always shocked when I start crying in random places - in restaurants and buses....Trader Joe's.....Starbucks......'tis the fickle nature of grief.

Anyhow, over the last 6 weeks I managed to start and complete two intensive summer courses (Addictions & Modes of Therapy and Research Methods & Statistics). I loved the addictions class, though the research class was a beast. So, now I have about 8 weeks until the fall semester. I will pick up some hours at IVP in August....but until then....what to do? Well, here's my plan. I have come up with an idea to turn my crafting into a business. So, I hope to make enough pieces to open a storefront on etsy.com by the end of summer. I am also planning on working on making homemade soaps, washclothes (I found the most delicious yarn for this) and preserving some jam.

We sold my old Accord on Friday - so the month of being a two car family has come to an end. There is really no reason for us to have two cars, it is expensive, etc - but oh, how convenient it was! I bought that car in 2002 and was pretty sad to see it go. It had 239,000 miles on it. I went on some great road trips in it and I had some pretty good years with it. Yes, tears were shed. So, now I will be on my bike in the daytime to hit up the library and yarn store. This is great, if it isn't over 85 degrees.

Things with Emily are difficult...... *sigh* She is in the middle of a two week grounding right now.

Sox swept the Cubs this weekend and the revenge is sweet. Speaking of baseball, we have tickets for the Stitch N Pitch night at the Sox in August. I am really excited. We are also going this Thursday with some friends. It is half price night. Woo!

I keep trying to make it to STL and was supposed to go this last week, but things with Emily put the kibosh on that. I am really frustrated. I do hope to make it there by the end of summer.

Anyhow, that's about everything up to date I guess.....I will certainly be posting about my crafty endeavors.
